For over 22 years, Mark Goldner has represented employers and employees in a broad range of labor and employment matters including employment litigation, counseling, and training.
He has litigated claims before federal and state administrative agencies and federal and state courts, including discrimination claims, individual and class action wage and hour claims, breach of employment contract claims, and actions for breach and enforcement of restrictive covenants.
Mark has counseled employers on employment issues including compliance with federal and state wage and hour laws, independent contractor status and employee classification, and employee leave, discipline, and terminations, and he has prepared employer policies and handbooks.
Information technology has had a profound effect on litigation, particularly in the "discovery" phase of a case. Mark has received intensive training in electronic discovery and has trained and advised lawyers on electronic evidence preservation and discovery issues.
Mark has represented clients in many industries including pharmaceutical sales, coal mining, health care, computer technology, manufacturing, non-profits, retail sales, engineering consulting, hotels and hospitality, insurance, banking, and automotive parts.
In addition to his legal career, Mark served as a U.S. Marine Corps officer for over 29 years and retired from the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve as a Colonel. In his Marine Corps career he served at every level from platoon commander in an infantry battalion to the Office of the Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon.
Mark's dedicated concern for the welfare of his Marines is the same dedicated concern he has for his clients' welfare. The combination of Mark’s legal experience and military career make him particularly well qualified to represent clients in connection with the federal and state statutes protecting military service members.
